설날 연휴가 끝났어요. 저는 부모님 집에서 많이 먹고 푹 쉬었어요! 오늘은 설날에 대해서 같이 알아봐요! :)

 

  Seollal falls on the first day of the lunar calendar, and it is the biggest holiday in Korea. On Lunar New Year's Day, families gather to eat tteokguk (rice cake soup). Also, some families hold a memorial service to honor their ancestors. The memorial service is a ritual where food is prepared and offered to the ancestors.

  Additionally, on Seollal, there is a tradition of wearing hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) and performing a bowing ceremony called sebae to the elders. Sebae is a greeting to the elders to wish them a happy new year. Usually, when performing sebae, a bow is made. After bowing, it is customary for elders to give sebaetdon (New Year's money) to the children.

 

  설날은 음력 1월 1일이고, 한국 명절 중에 가장 큰 명절이에요. 새해에는 가족들과 모여서 떡국을 먹어요. 그리고 조상들을 기리기 위해 제사를 지내는 경우도 있어요. 제사는 음식을 차려 놓고 조상들을 기리는 의식이에요. 

  그리고 설날에는 한복을 입고 어른들에게 세배를 하는 경우도 있어요. 세배란 새해를 맞아 어른들께 하는 인사예요. 보통 세배를 할 때는 절을 해요. 절을 한 뒤에는 어른들에게 세뱃돈을 받기도 해요.
